Wood Duck Spice’s Shawarma blend combines: cardamon, fenugreek, fennel, cumin, star anise, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, sweet Paprika, sumac, garlic, Tasmanian smoked salt and soft brown cane sugar together to create an incredible rich flavour profile ideally suited to lamb, but also equally delicious with other meats and of course guaranteed to make your vegetable dishes sing.

Shawarma is an Arabic word meaning ‘turning’.  Originating in the Ottoman Empire,  traditionally shawarma is a concoction of spiced marinated meat ,threaded onto a pole and grilled slowly.

The ingredients for Wood Duck’s Shawarma blend bring exotic flavours from the ancient trade routes together in a rich delicious medley that will enhance any meat or vegetable dish.

A flavour profile common across the Middle East, the Shawarma blend is rich but not hot.   If you like your meals HOT then add fresh or dried chilli at the marinade or serving stage.

Use as a rub on your chosen meat and allow to rest for 2 hours (preferably overnight) before BBQing, Slow Cooking, Air Frying or roasting for a flavour experience second to none.

Sprinkle Shawarma blend over quartered par boiled potatoes, drizzle with olive or vegetable oil, a sprinkle of salt, and roast in a fan forced oven or air fryer for delicious potato wedges.

Use a teaspoon or two of shawarma and some chopped onion as the flavour base for a curry or tagine.

Mix a teaspoon of shawarma blend with some sour cream or yoghurt for a fast and easy middle eastern flavoured dip.
